Citizens of Turkey and Azerbaijan from April 1 can travel between the two countries without a visa

Nisan 5, 2021

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey reported on March 29 that according to the protocol dated December 10, 2020 between the Republic of Turkey and the Republic of Azerbaijan, citizens of both countries can travel using their national identity cards starting from April 1, 2021. This was reported by the press service of the Turkish Foreign Ministry.

Thus, citizens of both countries can travel between the two countries without a visa, with only an identity card.

The report notes that the new rule, which will be applied from April 1, will further strengthen the strong brotherly relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey.

Recall that on February 1 of this year, at a meeting of the Milli Mejlis of Azerbaijan, the law "On approval of protocol number 1 on amendments to the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the Republic of Turkey on mutual visa exemption, signed on February 25, 2020 in the city of Baku" was adopted.
