Space cooperation between Russia and Turkey

Nisan 8, 2021

The head of the Turkish Space Agency, Serdar Hussein Yildirim, announced the possibility of an early signing of an agreement between Turkey and Russia on the start of cooperation in the space sector.

“We are building bilateral relations with countries and numerous relationships with international organizations, which we have identified in accordance with our goals. Considering that we are already working on general conditions of cooperation with different countries, including with Russia, we plan to sign in the near future, "TASS quotes him.

The Director of the Space Agency noted the important role of international cooperation in such a labor-intensive and expensive industry as space exploration.

Yildirim expressed a desire to meet in person in the near future with the head of Roscosmos Dmitry Rogozin, since the previous meeting was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. It is planned to discuss with him "all kinds of details" of bilateral cooperation between Turkey and Russia, after Erdogan identifies tasks for the Turkish Space Agency.
