Turkey announced that from May 15, mandatory PCR testing for coronavirus upon arrival in the country for travelers from 16 countries will be canceled. This message came from Interfax with reference to the statement of the Turkish Ministry of Health.
From mid-May, residents of the following countries will be able to visit Turkey without mandatory testing: China, including Hong Kong and Taiwan, Vietnam, Australia, South Korea, New Zealand, Luxembourg, Ukraine, Singapore, Estonia, Thailand, Great Britain, Israel, Latvia and Japan.
So far, Russia has not entered the list of countries whose citizens can visit the popular resort destination without restrictions.
We remind you that in April Russia limited air traffic with Turkey and closed the borders with Tanzania for a month and a half. At the same time, there are two flights a week between Moscow and Istanbul, which will be operated by Aeroflot (on Tuesdays and Fridays) and Turkish Airlines (on Mondays and Fridays).
Turkey has tightened its entry rules from December 28, 2020. The country's health minister, Fahrettin Koc, said that all passengers crossing the border by air will have to present a negative PCR test for coronavirus. As the minister noted, tourists undertake to show a certificate received no earlier than 72 hours before entry, when boarding.
