If you love historical sites, then you should definitely visit this city.
Syedra is located 20 kilometers from the city of Alanya, on a high hill off the Mediterranean coast.
The ruins of the remaining city are located on a hilltop high above the coast near the village of Seki.
Syedra consisted of the lower part, which was located on the coast and the upper one, built on top of a hill 400 meters above sea level. After the Seljuks, and then the Turks, seized the entire southern coast in the 13th century, the city was abandoned.
A triumphal arch, a mosaic on the city walls, as well as three pools-reservoirs, which are filled from a nearby source, have survived to our time. On the former central street, everything is rather modest - only a few collapsed columns and dilapidated shopping arcade, which at one time played the role of a market square.
Syedra is undeniably worth a visit.
And even if only modest ruins remain from the once powerful ancient city, they are located in one of the most beautiful places in the Mediterranean.
You can get to the abandoned city by car, or you can climb on foot from the nearest village.
