The ancient city of Sebaste (Sebaste Antik Kenti) – "Sebaste" literally translates as "sacred". Traces of the first settlement found on the site of the city, presumably belong to the II century BC. In the Roman period, it was a port and a trading city. In the ruins of the ancient city there is a Byzantine palace, a theater, and especially well-preserved tombs in the necropolis.
Kizkalesi Castle (Kız Kalesi), maiden fortress is a medieval Cilician fortress located on an island 200 meters from the shore. The area of the island is 15,000 m2, the diameter of the fortress walls is 192 meters. Visitors are taken to the fortress by boat. Opposite the fortress is the beach of the same name, popular among tourists and locals.
Adam Kayalar - Literally translates as "rock people". Figures of people and animals were carved on the steep cliffs approximately in the II century BC.
The ruins of Kanlı Divane Yeri are the ruins of an ancient city near a large oval-shaped sinkhole. The first buildings date back to the II-III century BC. The ancient Greek name of the city is Kanitellis (Kanytellis).
The Cave of Heaven and Hell (Cennet ve Cehennem mağaraları)
They are caves formed as a result of karst sinkholes. According to legend, the God Zeus sent the mythological giant Typhon, a half-human, half-dragon, to the cave of Hell.
You can see the cave of Hell only from the observation deck, but you can visit the cave of Paradise by descending the stairs consisting of 345 steps.
The Church of the Virgin Mary.
It was built in the V-VI centuries. Located in front of the entrance to the cave of Paradise. The ceiling of the building has a well-preserved fresco of the XXII century, which depicts Jesus with the apostles.
Astym Cave.
Located a 10-minute walk from the caves of Heaven and Hell. A large cave with tunnels, stalactites and stalagmites. It is popularly called the grotto of Desires. It is believed that the air in this cave has healing properties.
