Türkiye aims to hit passenger traffic record of 230 million by end of 2024

Ağustos 29, 2024

Turkey aims to set a passenger traffic record in 2024, planning to reach 230 million air passengers, Transport Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu said, emphasizing the country's significant potential in the field of civil aviation. According to him, Turkish airports have already served almost 130 million passengers between January and July 2024, which is 11 million more than the same period last year.

"Turkey has an extensive airport network, which includes 58 facilities, and our airlines fly to 346 airports in 131 countries. Every year, more and more people prefer air transport, which serves as a powerful incentive for the further development of airlines and aviation infrastructure," the minister noted.

Uraloğlu also emphasized that Turkey's geographical location plays a key role in the development of the aviation sector. "There are 67 countries with a combined population of 1.4 billion people within a four-hour flight radius of Turkey. This factor contributes to the increase in demand for air travel and creates additional opportunities for Turkish airlines,” he added.

Turkey continues to strengthen its position as one of the world’s leading aviation hubs, demonstrating steady growth in passenger traffic and expanding opportunities for international air traffic.
