The Foreigners’ Communication Center in Turkey, known as YİMER 157, continues to play a key role in providing emergency assistance to people in danger. The service’s main mission is to support foreigners with visas, residence permits and international protection. However, YİMER 157 also acts as a 24-hour emergency service, providing assistance in critical situations such as human trafficking, domestic violence and illegal migration.
The head of the Turkish Migration Directorate, Atilla Toros, emphasized the importance of YİMER 157’s rapid response to emergencies. In nine years of operation, the service has received 909 emergency calls, which have saved the lives of 15,619 people. This year, 231 people received emergency assistance.
YİMER 157 continues its mission by providing 24-hour support in five languages: Turkish, English, Russian, Arabic and Farsi. During its operation, the center has processed more than 23 million requests and won nine international awards in the category “Best Emergency Services”.
