Winter holidays for schoolchildren in Turkey

Today, all schoolchildren in Turkey have finished the first academic semester and are celebrating the beginning of a two-week vacation. At solemn events, school directors present certificates and medals to students who have passed semi-annual exams with excellent marks. Traditionally, during the school holidays, many locals take vacations to spend with the whole family. Ski and thermal resorts of the country are especially popular.
