10-Year-Old Ezel Ali Altin from Mersin Wins Second Place at World Mathematics Competition in Malaysia
Ezel Ali Altin, a 10-year-old primary school student from Mersin, won second place in his age group in the world at the 12th World Mathematics Competition held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The prestigious competition saw 936 students from 22 countries participate.
The young genius from Mersin, who unveiled the Turkish flag in the Malaysian capital, proudly declared: “When I grow up, I want to be a scientist.” Under the guidance of Alinda Akarsu, Ezel, who represented Turkey, participated in the competition along with eight other students as part of the Kangaroo and Transformation 350 Mathematics Associations.
This is not the first time that Ezel Ali Altin has won recognition on the international stage. Last year, he won a medal at the World Mathematical Competition in South Korea. His passion for mathematics only grows with each passing day. “I will continue to participate in competitions and will never give up. My goal is to become a scientist because I am very good at mathematics. Those who understand mathematics well can become great scientists. My role model is Stephen Hawking. I dream of reaching the same heights as him,” Ezel shared his ambitions.
The little mathematician from Mersin not only inspires his peers, but also makes his country proud. His success is an example of how determination and love for knowledge can lead to outstanding achievements at the international level.
