HOBBY GARDEN OPENED FOR RESIDENTS IN MERSINA

June 15, 2021

The municipality in Mezitli, Teje district (Mersin province) presented residents with a new hobby garden.
In this garden, those who wish can get their own plot and grow something for themselves -
vegetables, fruits, berries or flowers.
The opening of a hobby garden is another of the measures taken by the authorities in order to transform
the province of Mersin into a "center of attraction" for tourists, explained the mayor of Mezitli Neshet Tarkhan.
The concept of “urban gardens” has been started in Mersin quite recently. However, already
it is known that such a garden will not be the only one, to the delight of pensioners growing vegetables
and other city dwellers who like to tinker in the ground and just be in nature, which during the period
pandemic helps a lot to avoid unnecessary stress.
The opening of the hobby garden is timed to coincide with the Environment Day. Local authorities
we brought electricity and water to the plots free of charge in order to make it convenient to work
your mini-garden.
