Alanya University presented at exhibition in Kazakhstan

The 3rd University Fair "Silk Road" was held in the Palace of the Republic in Almaty (Kazakhstan), which was attended by 12 universities of Turkey and 13 universities of Kazakhstan. The event was aimed at strengthening cultural ties and educational cooperation between Turkish and Kazakh. 

The fair was organized on the basis of the Agreement on cooperation in the field of education signed between the Government of the Republic of Turkey and the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan Decree 8406, and published in the "Official Gazette" The Republic of Turkey of 27 April 2024 under number 32529.
At the opening of the fair, Evren Muderrisoglu, Consul General of the Republic of Turkey in Almaty and KZ EXPO Director General Hassan Ozkarajalar drew attention to the importance of educational and cultural cooperation between the two countries. 

During the fair, the University of Alanya signed cooperation protocols with the Caspian University, the University of Eurasia, the Kazakh University of International Relations and World Languages named after Ablai Khan and the International Information University.

Türkiye increases purchases of Western LNG: new contract with TotalEnergies.

Turkey s state-owned energy company Botas has signed a new long-term contract with France s TotalEnergies for the supply of 16 cargoes of liquefied natural gas (LNG) per year. The agreement will come into force in 2027 and is designed for 10 years, providing Turkey with an additional 1.6 billion cubic meters of gas annually.

Turkey's Finance Ministry to Reveal Names of Major Tax Debtors

Finance and Treasury Minister Mehmet Simsek said the names of taxpayers with tax arrears and fines of 5 million lira or more will be made public. Those who do not want to be on the list of "tax debtors" will have to pay off their debts by the end of September 2024. Taxpayers from earthquake-hit areas will be excluded from the measure.

Turkey's economic growth in the second quarter of 2024

Turkey's Federal Statistical Office reported that the country's economy grew by 2.5% in the second quarter of 2024. Significant growth was recorded in the services sector (7.4%) and construction (6.5%).
