Permanent residence permit in the UAE

Permanent residence permit in the UAE

January 12, 2024

The Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah has begun issuing a lifetime (indefinite) residence permit, which can be issued by applying through the RAKEZ Free Economic Zone (Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone). The cost of the full package of registration is 16,500 dirhams (about 4,100 euros). The applicant has the right to obtain such a visa for himself and for his family members. A visa entitles you to:

- live in any city in the UAE
- receive medical care
- get business licenses
- open bank accounts
- get a work permit
- get a driver's license and other documents

The Free Economic Zone is located in the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, a 45-minute drive from Dubai. The zone is a business and industrial center and is developing rapidly. Foreigners can open businesses here without the participation of UAE citizens. Recently, construction of the region's first casino, Wynn Resort Al Marjan Island, began here, which significantly increased investor interest in RAKEZ and gave impetus to the construction of many projects.
