Will Hafiz Gaye Ercan take over the post of head of the Central Bank of Turkey again?

It is claimed that a whole series of changes will take place in the economic administration of Turkey. According to the allegations, the chairman of the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BRSA), Shahap Kavecioglu, will be dismissed, and Hafize Gaye Ercan will be appointed in his place again.

According to a statement by Gerçek Gündem, Finance and Treasury Minister Mehmet Shimshek has convinced President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on this issue, and Hafiz Gaye Ercan will be appointed to the post of BRSA chairman in early June.

Hafize Gaye Ercan was appointed Governor of the Central Bank on June 8, 2023. Ercan, the first female head of the Central Bank of Turkey, served in this post for 8 months and was forced to resign on February 2, 2024.
