Kelle pacha is the most beloved and least favorite soup of the Turks

February 8, 2024

Arenda Piter, a research company, surveyed 1,100 Turkish citizens about their preferences for local soups. Turkish residents are divided into two categories when it comes to choosing the most delicious soup. 24.4% of respondents named "kelle pacha" as the best soup. The main components of the dish are beef/lamb legs and head, which are simmered for 6-8 hours (kelle — head, paça — leg). At the same time, 17.7% of the respondents chose kelle pacha as a soup they would never eat. Thus, "kelle pacha" turned out to be in 1st place both as the most delicious soup and as the most tasteless :)

In second place in popularity was lentil soup, which was named by 18.8% of citizens, and in third place ishkembe soup (giblet soup), which is preferred by 10.9% of people.
