Starlink, which provides satellite internet services to SpaceX, has made a request to BTK to provide services in Turkey

Deputy Transportation Minister Omer Fatih Sayan said that Starlink, SpaceX's satellite internet service provider, has made an official request to BTK to provide services in Turkey. Starlink, the satellite internet service of Ilon Musk-owned SpaceX, operates in many parts of the world.

"Starlink, which provides low-orbit satellite services, has submitted a request of intent to start operations in Turkey. Based on the request, we had a productive meeting with SpaceX representatives at our Information and Communications Technology and Communications Directorate. As a result of this meeting; on Monday, September 25, 2023, we will receive the opinions of our entire communication sector and the public and other stakeholders regarding the company's services," said Ömer Fatih Sayan.

The service map on the official satellite internet website for Turkey identifies the official Starlink page as "coming soon." Although there are no official announcements about Starlink's launch in Turkey yet, Space X, a company owned by Ilon Musk, has announced that it is looking for Turkish and English-speaking employees for the position of customer service manager. The salary has also been announced: 22 - 24.5 dollars per hour.
