Alanya mayor presents beehives to graduates of beekeeping course

August 1, 2023

Adem Murat Yucel distributed 268 free beehives to graduates of a beekeeping course. The event organized by the Antalya Beekeepers Association and the Public Education Department is not the first time. In previous years, 2,400 free beehives worth about 3 million liras were distributed.

Yucel Turan, president of the Antalya Beekeeping Association, said: "Today our 134 aspiring beekeepers received two hives each. I would like to thank the Mayor of Alanya for taking the initiative to create such a useful program."

The Mayor of Alanya concluded his speech with the following words: "Bees are an important investment not only for the beekeeper, but also for the ecological balance and agriculture of the region. I want the hives we give away for free to benefit our beekeepers, the people of Alanya and our nature. We will continue to support our producers with new projects."
