The Yalta-Istanbul ferry service may be restored in the near future

November 24, 2023

The tourist route from Crimea to Turkey may undergo changes as the possibility of restoring the ferry service between Yalta and Istanbul, which was closed in 2017, is being considered. According to the speaker of the Crimean Parliament Vladimir Konstantinov, there is a possibility of resuming ferry service with Turkey in the future.
This information was provided by the Turkish edition Turizm Ajansi, providing more details. The previously existing ferry line between Crimea and Turkey was discontinued in 2017 due to sanctions. According to Yanina Pavlenko, president of the Yalta administration, an agreement with the Beylikdüzü district in Istanbul is being considered, including the possibility of a new ferry line.
"The introduction of a ferry line is a project that can be implemented relatively easily and we consider it to be quite realistic," Mr. Konstantinov supported the idea. He also noted that Turkey is currently pursuing a fairly independent policy and remains a traditional partner for Crimea.
