In 2023, a record number of archaeological studies were conducted in Turkey

Turkish Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy reported on the record number of archaeological studies conducted in the country in 2023: "In 2023, we increased the number of archaeological studies to 720, which is an absolute world record. We plan to increase this figure to 750 in 2024 and to 800 in 2026. Over the next 4 years, the same amount of work will be done as in the last 60 years. The amount of funds allocated last year for various projects reached 1.1 billion liras.

Speaking about the work of museums, the Minister announced the beginning of night museumification in tourist regions. To attract tourists, it is planned to extend the opening hours of museums in popular tourist locations until 12 a.m.
