An international beach volleyball tournament is held in Mersin

A beach volleyball competition organized by Municipality of Mersin and Turkish Volleyball Federation is being held on Kizkalesi beach of Erdemli district of Mersin. The tournament will last 3 days and will end on Sunday, October 1. The total prize money is 200,000 liras. Twenty-six teams from 7 countries are taking part in the competition: 12 women's teams and 14 men's teams. 

Entry is free for spectators and free transportation is also provided. Resmiye Çakmak, one of the athletes competing from Antalya, said: "The organization in Mersin is amazing. The spectators are thrilled and so are the participating athletes. Mersin always supports the athletes and the beach volleyball federation and we are grateful to the municipality for this".
