A program to provide mobile psychological, legal and other assistance to women has been launched in Istanbul. As part of the program, a special purple bus will run in 85 neighborhoods in five districts of the city. The bus will be staffed by psychologists, social workers, nutritionists and health specialists. The service is available and free of charge for absolutely all women who for various reasons cannot visit the special center.
Also in Turkey, abused women can get instant legal, psychological and socio-economic support by calling 444 80 86 or ALO 153. The service is available 24 hours a day in four languages: Turkish, Kurdish, English and Arabic. In addition, women who have been subjected to domestic violence can stay with their children for some time at the Women's Solidarity House (Kadın Dayanışma Evi).
