The Government of Turkey announced the beginning of work on a project concerning short-term rentals, which since 2017 individuals were prohibited to engage in. It is reported that the real estate intended for short-term rentals will need to obtain a special certificate from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. In addition, the tenants will need to be registered and, of course, from the income received will need to pay income tax.
Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy said that the work on the bill will be completed by the end of 2023.
