Vice President Fuat Oktay said that Turkish mobile operators will not charge for calls for a month after the earthquake. "Turk Telekom, Turkcell and Vodafone will provide all calls free of charge for one month from the moment of the earthquake," Mr. Oktay said.

The Vice President made a statement about the earthquake affecting 10 provinces: "At the moment, 18342 people are listed as dead, 74242 were injured, 72879 people were rescued. 29,622 specially equipped rescuers are working at the site, of which 6,479 are rescuers from 75 different countries that have supported Turkey. The total number of people involved in the assistance process was 120,340 people. In Kilis, Osmaniye and Sanliurfa, the analysis of the rubble has been completed. The planes made 2293 departures. THY Turkish Airlines transported 72000 injured citizens and rescuers free of charge."

The head of the Society of Geophysicists of Antalya, Ishan Emran Kaptanoglu, addressed the residents of the region, saying that they should not worry. "The recent earthquakes were caused by the displacement of the Eurasian and Arabian plates (on the border of the Arabian Plate). The Eurasian plate pushes the Arabian Plate south along the East Anatolian Fault. Antalya and Alanya can only be affected by the African plate, which will not be able to push the Eurasian plate in any way," the engineer explained.

While all residents of Turkey and world communities rallied to help people affected by the earthquake, the French magazine Charlie Hebdo cartoon titled "Earthquake in Turkey". The cartoon was distributed on Twitter with the hashtag "Picture of the Day" and the inscription "There is no need to send tanks anymore."At the moment, the death toll in the earthquake has exceeded 7,100 people, injured - more than 40,000 people.

Turkish Airlines spokesman Yahya Ustun said on his social media account that they continue to deliver humanitarian aid, as well as assist search and rescue teams in the earthquake areas. The airline has already completed 47 flights, 9 of which were cargo.

The Turkish Ministry of Commerce issued a warning to companies and sellers who set inflated prices for essential goods after the earthquake. The statement says that the most severe fines and penalties will be applied to such companies.

According to the Statistical Office of Turkey (TÜIK), the population of Alanya in 2022 was 364,180 people, which is 3.9% more than in 2021. 252,941 and 53,702 people live in Manavgat and Gazipasha bordering Alanya, respectively.The population of Antalya in 2022 was 2,688,004 people.
