Registration of a power of attorney for the purchase of housing in Turkey
July 21, 2020
Registration of a document for ownership requires the mandatory presence of both parties at the registration procedure. If for some reason you cannot come to the Cadastral Office and take a direct part in the conclusion of the contract, you are given the opportunity to issue a power of attorney from a notary to another person.
They can be a representative of a travel agency or a person to whom you are ready to entrust such an important matter as registration of property rights. Document processing takes several hours. The completed certificate must be certified by a notary in Turkey. When issuing a power of attorney, it is necessary to take into account a number of specific features that may affect further work with documents:
issuing a power of attorney frees you from the need to urgently leave for Turkey to register documents;
when registering Tapu, both parties must be proficient in Turkish. Since not everyone has this ability, you have to hire a translator. If you issue a power of attorney for a person who speaks Turkish, the need for an interpreter will disappear;
when issuing a power of attorney for the purchase of real estate, you can indicate the possibility of registering subscription contracts for connecting such utilities as water supply and electricity. This will save you from working with additional "papers" in the future;
when issuing a power of attorney, you should not make a general power of attorney. The general power of attorney form makes it possible to take out a loan in your name or sell your property;
the name of the person for whom you are issuing a power of attorney will be indicated in all important documents, including Tapu;
before issuing a power of attorney, make sure that it is a really competent agency specialist, real estate agent or lawyer. Or a person you truly trust;
as with the registration of Tapu, a sworn (not your own!) licensed translator from the Turkish language must be present during the registration of the power of attorney;
some services, provided that you issue a power of attorney for their representative, take all the costs of the further conclusion of Tapu on themselves.

Controlled drugs include strong analgesics (e.g., morphine, codeine, fentanyl), psychoactive drugs (e.g., benzodiazepines, antidepressants, neuroleptics), stimulants (e.g., methylphenidate, amphetamines), sedatives and tranquillizers (for example, barbiturates, some sleeping pills). For the importation of controlled drugs, travellers must obtain prior authorization from Mohap and submit relevant documents in Arabic or English, Including a valid medical prescription and an authenticated certificate or authorization from the competent authority of the country of dispatch. Travellers may import prescription drugs for personal use for a period of no more than three months, provided they have an active medical prescription. For all other herbal medicines, the import procedure is similar to conventional prescription drugs.
Turkey is moving towards its goal of becoming an energy-independent country, and therefore pays special attention to its "energy fleet". At present, the country owns two seismic exploration and four drilling vessels. Barbaros Hayreddin Pasha The first Turkish seismic reconnaissance vessel, the Barbaros Hayreddin Pasha, was commissioned in late 2012. The vessel weighs 4,711 tons, is 84 metres long and 21.6 metres wide, has a helipad and satellite link for automatic direction and location. It is capable of studying geological structures at depths up to 8 km underwater and collecting two- and three-dimensional seismic data. MTA Oru Reis
If a foreigner wants to leave a will in Turkey, it is important to consider that it must comply with Turkish inheritance law. Turkish law provides for a guaranteed share (saklı pay) for certain categories of heirs, regardless of the contents of the will. Such heirs include children, spouses and parents. Legal heirs not mentioned in the will may apply to the court for their share of the inheritance. Brothers and sisters are not entitled to a guaranteed share. Inheritance in Turkey in the absence of a will 1. If there is a spouse and children: - 1/4 of the estate is received by the spouse - 3/4 is divided between the children. 2. If no children: - 1/2 of the estate is received by the spouse - 1/2 is divided between parents (if no parents, then between brothers and sisters) 3. If there are no children and parents: - 3/4 of the estate is received by the spouse- 1/4 is divided between the grandmother and grandfather of the deceased and their children (uncle, aunt) 4. If there are no other relatives besides the spouse: - All inheritance goes to the spouse. 5. If there are no relatives and spouse:- The whole estate goes to the state. Given these features, it is important to carefully consider the drafting of a will in Turkey to avoid possible legal disputes.
