Highest rental rates in Turkey in May

May 20, 2021

The dynamics of changes in prices for rental housing in Turkey was announced, it will be especially interesting for those who plan to renew the contract this month.

Property owners in Turkey are legally entitled to a rent increase only once a year. This can be done not arbitrarily, but in accordance with the "consumer price index" rate recommended by the authorities. The maximum increase rate is determined in the first week of each month, but taking into account the prices of consumer goods and inflation rates over the past year.

Landlords may also offer tenants to renew their contracts at the old rate, but experience suggests that not all rental property owners are so loyal.

The officially announced May rate is the highest in 2021, and it is 13.7%. In January this figure was 12.28%, in February - 12.53%, in March - 12.81%, in April - 13.18%.
