November 24, 1928 is the day when Ataturk was named the head teacher of national schools in Turkey, because it was at his suggestion that public schools were established and the teaching process began to be conducted in Latin instead of Arabic calligraphy. Therefore, when in 1981 the question of the day, which will be officially considered as a teacher's day, was raised, the choice fell on November 24.
On November 24, teachers in Turkey receive congratulations and celebrate their professional holiday. Students give them gifts, cards and flowers.
