Today is the 571st anniversary of the conquest of Istanbul. Conquered by the seventh Sultan of the Ottoman Empire, Fatih Mehmed, in 1453, Istanbul has been a symbol of Turkey's strength for 571 years. This sultan went down in history as Mehmed el-Fatih, or Mehmed II the Conqueror. The siege of Constantinople lasted from April 6 to May 29, 1453. And so on May 29, Constantinople, which had withstood 23 attacks before, fell for the last 24th time under the onslaught of the Ottomans and marked the fall of the Byzantine Empire.

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB) is preparing to celebrate the 571st year of the conquest of Istanbul with various events. The celebrations that will take place in Maltepe will begin with the Sena Şener concert. After the concert, Istanbul residents will enjoy a unique show "May 29". The celebration will continue with the Haluk Levent concert.
