Ali Bidi, a 74-year-old businessman and national athlete from Antalya, was the winner in his age group in a triathlon competition held in Belek. "Ironman 70.3 Turkey Races" is one of the most prestigious triathlon organizations in the world. About 2 thousand athletes from 86 countries took part in the races, which started from the public beach of Kadriye. The triathletes covered a total distance of 111.9 kilometers. The athletes started the race with a swim and then cycled from Belek to the EXPO 2016 grounds. The distance ended with a running stage in the Land of Legends.
According to Ali Bidi, despite his busy work schedule, he did not give up sports to keep his health: "I have a goal to live to be 120 years old, 144 to be exact, taking into account VAT, and I dedicate the victory in today's competition to the 100th anniversary of our republic!".
Ali Bidi, nicknamed "Iron Man", will take part in the World Triathlon Championships, which due to the pandemic was postponed to next year and will be held in New Zealand. The athlete promised his fans to take the first place.
