enAkkuyu NPP will start operation at the end of 2024

Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar announced the start date of Akkuyu NPP in an interview with Sabah newspaper. "Electricity generation at the first unit will start on October 29, 2024. The other units will be put into operation at one-year intervals," the minister said. He also said that Turkey plans to build two more nuclear power plants in the country within the next 5 years: one in Sinop province and the second in Thrace.

Turkey s state-owned energy company Botas has signed a new long-term contract with France s TotalEnergies for the supply of 16 cargoes of liquefied natural gas (LNG) per year. Turkey's Finance Ministry to Reveal Names of Major Tax Debtors
Finance and Treasury Minister Mehmet Simsek said the names of taxpayers with tax arrears and fines of 5 million lira or more will be made public. Those who do not want to be on the list of "tax debtors" will have to pay off their debts by the end of September 2024. Taxpayers from earthquake-hit areas will be excluded from the measure.
