Alanya may become the "Mediterranean Capital of Sports 2024"

The ACES Europe Federation has included Alanya in the list of candidates for the title of "Mediterranean Capital of Sports 2024". The federation's official website states the following information:

"Alanya, located on the picturesque coast of the Mediterranean Sea, has recently become a major center for sports and outdoor activities. The city, known for its magnificent beaches and historical landmarks, is now gaining recognition with its candidacy as the 2024 Mediterranean Sports Capital.

The pleasant year-round climate makes Alanya an ideal place for practicing various sports and outdoor activities. From water sports such as windsurfing and sailing to mountain biking and hiking in the Taurus Mountains, Alanya has something for every fitness and physical activity enthusiast.

Alanya also invests heavily in state-of-the-art sports facilities, including world-class stadiums, tennis courts and golf courses. These facilities host international competitions and training camps, making Alanya a favorite destination for athletes seeking first-class training facilities." 

Officials from ACES Europe, which is an official partner of the European Commission, UNESCO, United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, will visit Alanya to conduct the assessment. ACES Europe President Gian Francesco Lupattelli, delegation member Fabrizio Santangelo and ACES Turkey delegate Veli Ozan Çakır, Advisor to the Minister of Youth and Sports, will be part of the delegation that will visit Alanya on November 13-15.
