Antalya broke the record for the number of domestic and foreign tourists

Antalya, the capital of Turkish tourism, has updated its record in the number of domestic and foreign tourists - 3 million 959 thousand 267 people visited the region in the first 5 months of 2024.  Compared to the same period last year, the number of tourists increased by 16.26%.

Germany retained the first place in the ranking of countries that sent the largest number of tourists to Antalya - 974.272 people.  In second place Russia - 857,862 people, in the third England - 451,341 people. Poland, the Netherlands, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Lithuania, Belgium and France followed.  

Compared to 2023, the number of tourists from the main market increased:
 18% from Germany, 9% from the Russian Federation, 28% from England, 35% from Poland, 16% from the Netherlands, 12% from Kazakhstan, 59% from Ukraine, 12% from Belgium and 39% from France.

Türkiye increases purchases of Western LNG: new contract with TotalEnergies.

Turkey s state-owned energy company Botas has signed a new long-term contract with France s TotalEnergies for the supply of 16 cargoes of liquefied natural gas (LNG) per year. The agreement will come into force in 2027 and is designed for 10 years, providing Turkey with an additional 1.6 billion cubic meters of gas annually.

Turkey's Finance Ministry to Reveal Names of Major Tax Debtors

Finance and Treasury Minister Mehmet Simsek said the names of taxpayers with tax arrears and fines of 5 million lira or more will be made public. Those who do not want to be on the list of "tax debtors" will have to pay off their debts by the end of September 2024. Taxpayers from earthquake-hit areas will be excluded from the measure.
