Thanks to the smart gate system, travelers quickly pass through passport control at Dubai airport

January 31, 2024

The first electronic gate system at Dubai Airport was installed in 2002. The system has been continuously improved, turning into a "smart gate" and in 2023, a facial recognition feature was added to it. Now you don't even need to show your documents at the boarding gate. You just need to look at the green light above the smart gate. Contactless smart exits also work to control arriving and departing passengers, but documents must be presented there for scanning. The system allows citizens to pass through immigration control points much faster than at other airports, besides, it does not require the participation of migration service employees.
