Did you know that in addition to the classic visit to the Duty Free area, you can spend a very interesting time waiting for your flight at Istanbul airport? You can even just arrive early to visit the places we will tell you about below.

Visit the museum
Opened in 2020, the museum has an area of more than 1000 m2. It is the largest museum in the world located at the airport. It is now hosting the exhibition "Treasures of Turkey - Faces of Thrones", which tells the history of the different civilizations that existed on the territory of Turkey at one time or another.
The museum is open from 8:30 to 23:00 on the floor for international flights. Entrance is 13 euros.

The Ambassador Salon is open 24 hours a day. It is located next to the IGA and Skyteam lounge near gates A and B

Airspotting
Aircraft spotting is the observation and filming of aircraft. There is a special Spotter area at the airport, which offers a great view of the runway and control tower. Beautiful Instagram photos are guaranteed. To enter the area, you need to fill out a simple registration form on the airport's official website. There is no additional charge for this.

Enter the airport library
In the zone of domestic flights there is an excellent library with a wide selection of books of various subjects. You can return a borrowed book to any library in Turkey and the staff will hand it back to the airport library themselves.

Fly on a ride simulating a flight over Istanbul!
The virtual Hezarfen Flight Simulator Experience is located in the CIP Business Lounge. It will take you along the flight path of the first engineer-inventor in the history of Turkish aviation and give you a bird's eye view of the Galata Tower, the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia Cathedral and Topkapı Palace. The ride is free of charge.

Sleep Zones
For those who want to relax and get a good night's sleep, there are several sleep zones: the Sleepod is paid and Napzone is free. In Sleepod there are 25 sleeping booths with prices ranging from 18 to 23 euros. Napzone are located at 6 different points of the airport and are lounge chairs in the most relaxed areas.

Free internet
Free internet at the airport is only available for an hour. To get it, you need to scan your passport at a special machine and take a ticket or register via sms. However, you can try to press "forget network" in your phone settings, reboot your phone and get another hour of free internet.

Rules for the import of medicines in the UAE in 2024

For the importation of controlled drugs, travellers must obtain prior authorization from Mohap and submit relevant documents in Arabic or English, Including a valid medical prescription and an authenticated certificate or authorization from the competent authority of the country of dispatch. Travellers may import prescription drugs for personal use for a period of no more than three months, provided they have an active medical prescription. The UAE prohibits the importation of unregistered or banned drugs, as well as medicinal herbs that may be authorized in the country of origin. For all other herbal medicines, the import procedure is similar to conventional prescription drugs.

Drilling and research vessels of Turkey

The will in Turkey: important information for foreigners 

If a foreigner wants to leave a will in Turkey, it is important to consider that it must comply with Turkish inheritance law. Turkish law provides for a guaranteed share (saklı pay) for certain categories of heirs, regardless of the contents of the will. Such heirs include children, spouses and parents.
