The number of single people in Turkey is close to 5.2 million

If in 2014 the number of single people was 2,931,085, then by 2023 the number of single people reached 5,192,825 people. The largest increase in singles was observed during the COVID pandemic. Over the past 10 years, the number of single people has increased by 77.2%.

2016 - 3,316,894 people .
2017 - 3.491.148 people .
2018 - 3.730.505 people .
2019 - 4.062.576 people.
2020 - 4,404,997 people .
2021 - 4,781,600 people .
2022 - 5,067,331 people .
2023 - 5,192,825 people

More than half of all single people live in the megacities of Turkey:
Istanbul - 933.764 people.
Ankara - 375.260 people.
Izmir - 355.132 people.
Antalya - 195.430 people.
Bursa - 178,860 people.
Balykesir - 117.401 people.
Mersin - 116.012 people.
Konya - 114.808 people.
Kocaeli - 103.706 people.

The provinces with the lowest number of single people were Bayburt - 5,439 people, Ardagan - 6,868 people and Hakkari - 8,020 people.

Turkey's Finance Ministry to Reveal Names of Major Tax Debtors

Finance and Treasury Minister Mehmet Simsek said the names of taxpayers with tax arrears and fines of 5 million lira or more will be made public. Those who do not want to be on the list of "tax debtors" will have to pay off their debts by the end of September 2024. Taxpayers from earthquake-hit areas will be excluded from the measure.
