Today, the whole of Turkey celebrates 109 years since the Victory Day and pays tribute to the heroes who participated in the Battle of Canakkale during the First World War. This day was an important event in the history of the country and became the day of Victory in one of the bloodiest battles in the history of Turkey. Then Turkey was able to defend the Dardanelles Strait, opposing the huge army of the Entente. The victory at Canakkale became the starting point in the creation of the Turkish Republic. Celebrations dedicated to fallen soldiers and Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, who played a key role in protecting the strait, are taking place in all educational institutions and squares of all cities.
