The Migration Management Department of the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs has published statistics on the number of foreigners with a residence permit

According to the department, the number of foreigners living in Turkey with residence permits decreased by 247.062 people and amounted to 1 million 107 thousand. In 2022, this number was 1 million 354 thousand 94 people.

The provinces of Turkey, according to the number of foreigners registered in them, were distributed as follows:

Istanbul - 556.578 people
Antalya - 117.052 people
Ankara - 70,098 people
Bursa - 51.537 people
Mersin - 43 .944 people
Izmir - 25.576 people
Mugla - 20,453 people

By nationality, the list of foreign citizens looks like this:

Turkmenistan - 109.039 people
Russia - 100,847 people
Iraq - 91.117 people
Syria - 79.779 people
Iran - 79.505 people
Azerbaijan - 67.521 people
Uzbekistan - 52.065 people
Kazakhstan - 43.006 people
Afghanistan - 41,978 people
Ukraine - 36,982 people
Other countries - 405.033 people

By type of residence permit:

short-term residence permit - 638,764 people
student residence permit - 161,426 people
family residence permit - 117,579 people
other types of residence permit - 189,263 people

In 2023, 63,704 Russians and Ukrainians left Turkey. The number of Russian citizens decreased from 154,297 to 100,847, and the number of Ukrainians decreased from 47,236 to 36,982.
