Yalan Dunya is a unique cave located in Gazipasa on the slope of Asar Hill. Like many other caves it has a legend according to which two lovers were trapped on opposite sides of the cave as a result of a cave collapse. Yalan Dunya translates from Turkish as "false world", "false world".
According to speleologists, the cave is 5 million years old, however, it is still in the formation stage. The length of the cave is about 4 kilometers, and 450 meters are available to visitors. It was opened to the public in 2010. The accessible areas are equipped with stairs, benches and beautifully lit. Due to the high humidity and constant air temperature of 28 degrees at any time of the year, it is believed that visiting the cave is beneficial to the health of asthmatics.
In addition to bizarre stalactites and stalagmites, the cave has beautiful lakes, pools, oolites (cave pearls) and a huge column with a diameter of 10 meters. The cave is also inhabited by a special kind of bats, but it is impossible to see them - they are not shown to the eyes of tourists.
If you are in Gazipasa, be sure to visit this mysterious cave with an incredible atmosphere!
