Dubai topped the list of the best cities in the Middle East

December 4, 2023

Dubai has been recognized as the best city in the Middle East and the fifth best city in the world, ahead of Barcelona, Rome, Madrid, Singapore and Amsterdam. The study was conducted by Resonance Consulting, which evaluates 100 million-dollar cities across six categories: location, offerings for residents, quality of life programs, well-being, community and promotion.  According to the study, Dubai ranked first in the location category due to its sunny days per year, personal safety and quality of outdoor activities. The city is also known for its attractions such as Dubai Mall, Burj Khalifa, Museum of the Future, Jumeirah Palm Island and the Eye of Dubai Ferris wheel, making it a popular tourist destination.

Despite its high percentage of foreign population and rapid growth, Dubai maintains its status as one of the safest cities in the world. Resonance Consulting released the findings following a WTTC report predicting an increase in tourism spending in Dubai to $43 billion per year by 2032. This growth is driven by increased government investment in tourism infrastructure over the coming decades.
