Two Turkish universities ranked among the top 10 best universities in the world in "Times Higher Education (THE) World Universities Impact Rankings"

Istanbul Technical University (ITU) and Abdullah Gul University (AGU) are among the top ten universities in three different categories in the rating "Times Higher Education (THE) World Universities Impact Rankings" of the international ranking organization in higher education, british-based.

In 2024, THE assessed a total of 2,152 universities from 125 countries and regions in four areas: research, management, outreach and teaching, and 17 other indicators. By three of these indicators, Turkish universities are among the top ten in the world.

Istanbul Technical University ITU ranked 5th in the category of "quality education", and Abdullah Gul University ranked 5th in the category of "poverty alleviation" and 7th in the category of "climate action". In the category of "general evaluation" in the TOP-100 Istanbul ITU took 34th place, and the Middle East Technical University (METU) - 88th place in the top 100. In total, 42 universities of Turkey entered the TOP 1000.

The best university in the world was the University of Western Sydney, and the largest number of universities in the top ten in the general category was in Australia - 4 universities, followed by the United Kingdom and Canada - 12 universities each.
