Annual house price growth in Turkey

Home price growth in Turkey continues to impress, reaching significant levels as of May 2023. According to the new data, the growth was 116% in Turkish liras.  The average selling price per square meter in the country was 18,862 Turkish lira ($796), and the average value of a property was 2.5 million Turkish lira ($105,550).  

In May, the largest number of residential property sales were recorded in Istanbul, Ankara and Antalya.  According to the index, in Istanbul, the annual increase in home sales prices amounted to 107%. The average price per square meter was 29,646 Turkish Liras ($1,250) and the average value of an object was 3.6 million Turkish Liras ($152,050).  

In Ankara, housing prices rose by 131% over the year. The average selling price per square meter was 14,829 Turkish liras ($630), and the average cost of an object was 1.9 million Turkish liras ($80,250). 

In Antalya, the annual increase in value was 118%. The average price per square meter was 24,424 Turkish liras ($1,030) and the average value of the property was 3.4 million Turkish liras ($143,600).

Türkiye increases purchases of Western LNG: new contract with TotalEnergies.

Turkey's Finance Ministry to Reveal Names of Major Tax Debtors

Finance and Treasury Minister Mehmet Simsek said the names of taxpayers with tax arrears and fines of 5 million lira or more will be made public. Those who do not want to be on the list of "tax debtors" will have to pay off their debts by the end of September 2024. Taxpayers from earthquake-hit areas will be excluded from the measure.
