Changes in the application process for residence permit in Turkey!

July 1, 2024

The Ministry of the Interior and the Migration Department are streamlining the process of applying for residence permits by foreigners. Notaries will now send the files directly to the Migration Department, thus reducing the processing time.

New conditions:
- The application may be made in person, through a guardian or attorney by proxy.
- Each applicant receives a unique number to track the status of the application.
- Submission takes place through the Notariat Information System (NBS) at the address of the foreigner’s residence.
- All documents of foreign applicants must be apostilled, translated and notarized.
- The completed application is made in three copies: for the applicant, the notary and the migration service.

The NBS system allows you to track the status of the application and check the necessary documents online. Temporary applications are accepted both in the migration service and through notaries, but in the future the procedure will be fully integrated into the notary.
