A Chinese delegation visited the Tarsus Industrial Zone

August 25, 2023

A delegation that arrived in Mersin from the Chinese city of Xining visited the Mersin-Tarsus Organized Industrial Zone (MTOSB). MTOSB President Sabri Tekli, informing the delegation from Xining about the region's activities, said: "Our Mersin-Tarsus Organized Industrial Zone is an area transformed from a landfill to an industrial zone. As Mersin is a city of tourism, agriculture and logistics, we build such zones in remote areas so as not to harm the city's infrastructure. We are very environmentally conscious and we have received the third prize of the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization for the best environmentally friendly industrial zone. Our entrepreneurs are doing a great job and growing rapidly. Today we already have 10 companies in the ISO Top 500 ranking."

The purpose of the meeting: sharing experiences and attracting foreign investment. "We would like China to invest in MTOSB, especially in the automotive sector," Sabri Tekli said. "I hope that our relationship will become even stronger in the coming years," Duan Fada, Chairman of Xining Municipal Council, replied to him.
