In Turkey, starting from 2017, a law really came into force, according to which individuals who own real estate do not have the right to rent out housing for a short period. However, there are no such restrictions for legal entities, so any owner can contact a real estate agency and issue a power of attorney to manage the property. In this case, the agency will take over all the responsibilities for renting the apartment, including finding tenants, concluding a lease agreement, monitoring payment, checking the apartment before the tenants leave, and so on. The owner will only have to periodically receive payment from the agency to his current account.Of course, some owners continue to rent their apartments for short periods illegally. We are forced to inform you that the fine for such a violation is 10,000 Turkish lira, in case of a repeated violation, in addition to the fine, the property will also be sealed, and in case of a third and subsequent violation, a criminal case may be opened against the owner. Due to the current situation with seasonal rentals, many owners have decided to rent out their property for a long term and, unfortunately, have encountered a number of unforeseen problems.
