The quotas for places in public universities of Turkey are filled by 98.8%

This was the statement made by Erol Ozvar, president of the Higher Education Council.  Thus, there are almost no vacancies in the faculties of public universities.

President of ÖSYM prof. Dr Bayram Ali Ersa: "Dear candidates, the results of the YKS-Awards have been announced. You can read them on the ÖSYM website https://sonuc.osym.gov.tr. University registration will be held from 19 to 23 August, and electronic registration will be held from 19 to 21 August. Follow the explanations about registration processes. I congratulate all students who have become students. You are our future".

Turkey's Finance Ministry to Reveal Names of Major Tax Debtors

Finance and Treasury Minister Mehmet Simsek said the names of taxpayers with tax arrears and fines of 5 million lira or more will be made public. Those who do not want to be on the list of "tax debtors" will have to pay off their debts by the end of September 2024. Taxpayers from earthquake-hit areas will be excluded from the measure.

Turkey's economic growth in the second quarter of 2024

Turkey's Federal Statistical Office reported that the country's economy grew by 2.5% in the second quarter of 2024. Significant growth was recorded in the services sector (7.4%) and construction (6.5%).
