April 30, 2024

At the seminar "Creation of a lyceum for the study of artificial intelligence", organized in cooperation with the Istanbul National Education Department and Istanbul Technopark, scientists, information technology teachers and representatives of the sector discussed the creation of a lyceum, the development of its curriculum and what courses should be taught there. The results of the seminar will be submitted to the Ministry of National Education, and if they are approved, it is planned to create a lyceum at the Teknopark Istanbul campus this year.

Huseyin Aydin, Deputy director of the National Education of Istanbul, said that the lyceum will become Turkey's first high school for the study of artificial intelligence: "Artificial intelligence, which is used in various fields - from computer science to media, from industry to education - is one of the most important areas of the future."

Mehmet Akif Ozyurt, a member of the Board of Directors of Teknopark Istanbul, stressed the importance of introducing a school format in which all sub-sectors of artificial intelligence will be taught: "The country's youth should be well prepared in this field, which offers not only great opportunities and amenities, but also threats and dangers. As Teknopark Istanbul, we are ready to present you the information obtained at the vocational Anatolian secondary school Teknopark Istanbul, which is engaged in production in the field of cybersecurity, to create Turkey's first lyceum for the study of artificial intelligence."
