Turkey's Ministry of Finance has approved a loan for the construction of the Mersin metro project

Mersin Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Vahap Secer announced that the Ministry of Finance has approved part of the external loan needed for the Mersin metro project. Secher thanked Minister Mehmet Şimşek for his participation and said that the metro construction will now continue at a faster pace. "I would like to thank Minister of Finance and Treasury Mr. Mehmet Şimşek, who authorized the 900 million liras needed for the construction of the Mersin metro," Vahap Secher said.

Turkey's Finance Ministry to Reveal Names of Major Tax Debtors
Finance and Treasury Minister Mehmet Simsek said the names of taxpayers with tax arrears and fines of 5 million lira or more will be made public. Those who do not want to be on the list of "tax debtors" will have to pay off their debts by the end of September 2024. Taxpayers from earthquake-hit areas will be excluded from the measure.
