December 29, 2023

Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kachir met in Beijing with Chinese Minister of Science and Technology Yin Hejun and Chinese Minister of Industry and Information Technology Jin Chuanglong.

Kachyr stated that they discussed bilateral cooperation, in particular investments in electric vehicles and batteries: "We want to make Turkey a production base in the field of electric vehicles and batteries with new investments. China is a country with many brands of electric vehicles, as well as a world leader in battery production. In this sense, together with our interlocutors, we assessed how we can act together to increase the size of investments by Chinese companies in our country." The Minister shared with his Chinese colleagues the level of Turkey's research, innovation, industrial and technological potential.

In addition, cooperation in the field of healthcare, railway system technologies, renewable energy sources and solar energy was discussed at the meetings. "We plan to increase the number of meetings and visits in order to improve cooperation between China and Turkey in all these areas at a higher level," Mehmet Fatih added.
