Due to the increased demand for gold, the Mint in Istanbul switched to working two shifts.
Mehmet Hekim, Deputy General Director of the Mint: "We used to work in one shift to meet demand and produce 400 kilograms of gold per day. Now we produce 600 kilograms of gold per day, working in two shifts from morning to 11 p.m. Under normal conditions, we did not deliver on weekends, but now we deliver on Saturdays as well."
A similar situation was observed during the pandemic, when the Mint worked in three shifts.
