If a family member or close relative of the passenger falls ill.
Death of a passenger's family member.
Failure of the air carrier to fulfill obligations on its part. Such are:
- complete cancelation of the flight
- failure to board a passenger on a paid flight
- flight delay, as a result of which the passenger was late for connecting flights or important events.
The procedure and documents to be carried with you to get a refund:
- You need to contact the airline and ask to be taken off the flight. This should be done before the end of check-in for the flight.
- Obtain a doctor's certificate stating that due to illness, the flight is contraindicated or not recommended for you (your close relative). Have a death certificate in hand if the flight was canceled due to the death of a close relative.
- Have a document confirming your relationship if you are not flying due to the illness/death of a close relative.
- Have tickets for the connecting flight or documented proof that you missed a significant event.
Having performed the above actions and having all the documents in hand, you need to apply to the airline with an application for a refund.
