To glaze a balcony in Alanya you need to obtain the permission of the municipality and the consent of the owners of other apartments

June 20, 2024

According to the case law of the Court of Cassation of 2023, the glazing of a balcony without the consent of the owners of other apartments is no longer legal and may entail a fine.

The Court of Cassation stresses that the outside of the building is a common area and any changes require the written consent of the 4/5 floor owners. Unauthorized glazing of balconies is legally unacceptable, as it violates the aesthetic integrity of the building and infringes the rights of other owners of apartments.

What do we do?

Before you glaze the balcony, contact the administration of the apartment building and the owners of other apartments to obtain the necessary permits. Otherwise, you may have to dismantle the glazed balcony and pay a fine as a result of complaints from neighbors or lawsuits.

- get written consent of 4/5 apartment tenants
- get the necessary permits from the municipality
- work under the supervision of an architect or engineer
- choose the model of the glass balcony, combined with the exterior of the building
