Sand lilies have bloomed on the beach of Alata Horticultural Research Institute in Erdemli district of Mersin. Nature conservation and national parks teams carried out the flower care work. Mevlüt Çetin, head of the Erdemli General Directorate of Nature Protection and National Parks, told reporters that sand lilies are endangered. Emphasizing that sand lilies should not be plucked, Çetin reminded of the amount of fine for plucking the flower, "We will impose a fine of 244,315 liras on those who pluck and destroy sand lilies. I hope that citizens will be attentive to the protection of sand lilies."
